Rachel Tegen
DESIGN ASSOCIATE
My dad built the house I grew up in and was constantly building additions. Being surrounded by his work and my mom’s design magazines planted the seed from a young age, and I knew I wanted to be an interior designer. Working at a local design showroom in high school gave me a glimpse into the industry, and I fell in love.
Between graduating with my bachelor’s in Interior Design and returning to school for my master’s in Communication and Business Leadership, I interned for a designer in Delaware and later worked at a tile showroom. Witnessing the design process from many stages inspired me to take on design from a more full-service position, and soon I joined KMID! Here, I’m responsible for communicating our design details and client decisions to the build team via drawing stills, which convey our vision and intent.
There is nothing quite like seeing the process unfold and watching the details fill a space to bring it to life!
